Future initiatives

Running Blind is partnering with Opportunities Unlimited for the Blind to sponsor and co-host their 2014 Adventure Camp. The 10 day camp will take place in Northern Michigan in July with 5 days on Beaver Island and 5 days in the Charlevoix area. This will be an exciting camp and is a great opportunity for Running Blind to collaborate with an existing group that does work that compliments the work and strengths of Running Blind. This is the first major initiative Running Blind is taking for a youth camp activity. We expect it to go swimmingly! More info on this to follow.

Running Blind is considering adding some additional activities such as a specialized camp for young, aspiring visually impaired runners, or possibly a regional camp for young and potentially talented visually impaired athletes interested in various sports. (More info on these activities coming soon...)

Running Blind was born from work that founder Hal Wolfe did for many years with the Michigan Blind Athletic Association. Hal and Tom developed special camp registration forms and software that worked well and were used for a few years for their Sports Education Camps. At some point we would like to try help other similar camps around the country with similar support.
