Guide Running & Walking

Running Blind Training Partner Support Services:

Running Blind provides support to visually impaired people of all ages that want to participate in running or walking as a sport or hobby by helping to provide them a guide running / walking partner to allow them to train safely outdoors. The benefits of maintaining an active lifestyle are very important for everyone, but the challenges that a visually impaired person face to accomplish this can be daunting and can often lead to a sedentary lifestyle that lacks the benefits of physical activity that come so easily to sighted people. We hope to help eliminate most of those challenges and have done so successfully for a number of people already. This service is currently being furnished primarily in the SE Michigan area, but we hope to expand soon to a much broader area.

Are you visually impaired? If you are visually impaired, please consider signing up to take advantage of our guide pairing service.

Are you fully sighted? (that is - not visually impaired) If you are sighted and active, please consider signing up as a guide runner or walker. Please don't feel that you are not fast enough - the needs of people in the visually impaired community span a great range of ability and activity levels. The benefits to a guide can be every bit as valuable as they are to a visually impaired training partner both physically and emotionally.
